Obituary
Cindy S. Douglas passed away peacefully on May 24, 2021 with her sisters by her side after a long and brave battle with cancer. She was born on September 10, 1957 in Neenah, the second daughter to the late Clyde and Janet (Losse) Douglas.
Cindy graduated from Neenah High School with the class of 1975. Following graduation she enrolled at and received her associates degree from NWTC as an operating room technician. She furthered her education by completing her boards to become state certified. She began a 44 year career with ThedaCare in 1976, starting and working for 37 years at Theda Birth Center, two years in inpatient surgery, and culminated with five years in Endoscopy at Encircle Health in Appleton. During the many years at Theda Birth Center, she also taught Lamaze to thousands of new and expecting parents.
She was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Neenah where she taught Sunday school to 3 and 4 year olds and participated in a mission trip to Haiti, where she helped build a school for underprivileged children. She was a world traveler, visiting all 50 states, the European continent and British Isles and Caribbean. Cindy loved books, reading, and played a pretty good game of golf. She had a long-term love affair with the Badgers and Chicago Cubs, and was a proud Packer season ticket holder.
Cindy is survived by her three sisters, Cheryl Douglas of Neenah, Carrie (Roger) Clark of Appleton, and Caryn Boehler of Neenah. She is further survived by a nephew Phillip Clark of Appleton and niece Katie (Tom) Zartner of Hortonville along with 2 great-nephews Owen and Krew Zartner of Hortonville.
As well as a deep love for her family, Cindy idolized her 6 pound Morkie, Wrigley, and Shorkie, Jordy. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Cindy's sisters would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to ThedaCare Hospice, especially RN Lexi, who not only cared deeply for her care but gave extraordinary support to her family.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 200 N. Commercial Street, Neenah with Rev. Amy Engebose officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in her name.
