FINLEY VOLKMAN

Finley Dean Volkman “chicken nugget”, age 7, passed away Sunday June 6th, 2021, after courageously battling brain cancer most of his precious young life. Finley was born October 2, 2013, in Neenah, son of Derek Volkman (Steph Stepanski) and Stacy Rodgers.

Finley enjoyed many different things in his short time with us, but two things really were his true passions, Music and making pretend soup. Finley loved all sorts of genres of music. Finley sure loved his soup, we often referred to him as a soup expert and that would always make him smile. He had a smile that could light up any room and such a spunky personality. He also enjoyed being his dad's baseball buddy, playing in his play kitchen and spending time with his family. He also loved the color orange.

Finley is survived by his parents: Derek Volkman and Stacy Rodgers;  sister Emma (Johnathon) Volkman; two brothers: Riley Volkman and Owen Rodgers; grandparents: Steven and Diana Volkman (DA Bump and Nana), Joy Wolff Rodgers, Daniel Rodgers, grandma April and Grandpa Richard Stepanski; great grandma Polly Rodgers; Aunt and Caretaker Gina (Aaron) Volkman; four aunts: Sarah (Ryan) Schmeichel, Sammy (Josh) Schultz, Sadie (Paul) Staerkel, Sophie (Elise) Rodgers; 12 cousins: Keegan Volkman, Peyton and Nolan Schmeichel, Henry, Charlie and Gus Schultz, Nova and Remy Staerkel, Aaron, Jaiden, Rylan and Trevyn Stepanski. Finley is further survived by many more family and special friends.

Finley will be remembered on Wednesday June 16, 2021, at WESTOR FUNERAL HOME, NEENAH. Visitation will be from 2:00 until the 5:00PM service, with Rev. Mike Huff officiating.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Finley's family would like to extend a very special thank you to the medical team at Children's Hospital Wisconsin Milwaukee, Dr. Tanaka, Dr. Knipstien, Suzie Novak, Lori Goode, Paula Thompson, Michelle Honeck, Kaitlin, Caitlin, 7th floor ICU staff, HOT unit staff and many more, for all their care and compassion. Finley's family would also like to thank everyone else in the community, for all your love and support.
