Obituary
Darlene D. Rogers, age 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. She was born January 30,1935, in New London, daughter of the late Ervin and Leona (Faker) Schimke. Darlene married Jack Rogers on August 7, 1965, in New London. He preceded her in death on August 11, 2008.
Darlene graduated from UW Stevens Point in 1957 with a degree in secondary education. She taught at Green Bay Preble High School, then moved to Neenah High School where she worked as an English teacher. Her passion for teaching continued, helping people in the community, volunteering at St. Margaret Mary Parish in Neenah, and raising her two sons, Brian & Kevin. She loved to cook, spend time with her family, and was an avid Packer fan. Her biggest love were her granddaughters (children of Kevin & Jenny), Sally Grace and Delaney Rogers. Any time their names were mentioned, a big smile always followed. She was fortunate to have a wonderful group of lifelong friends from her days at Point and from Neenah, she will be missed by all.
The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 620 Division St., Neenah, with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of Mass. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established for the church in her name, or you may donate to the Special Olympics (specialolympics.org) or the Arthritis Foundation (arthritis.org) in her name .
