LUCILLE SCHAFER

Lucille Jane Schafer, age 91, passed away peacefully at her home in Neenah on Friday, May 9, 2014. She was born on December 6, 1922 in Appleton; daughter of the late Herman and Clara (Scharman) Schroeder. On July 3, 1947, she was united in marriage to Jack Schafer. Lucille enjoyed traveling on bus tours with her nephew, Bobby, bowling, playing cribbage and sheephead; but most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends throughout the years. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Darla (Bruce) Rasmussen and two sons, Gary and Dan Schafer; grandchildren, Gretchen (Mitchell) Kinnard and Jason (Katie) Rasmussen; great granddaughter, Ella Kinnard; very special nephew, Robert (Myra) Schroeder and her loving companion and friend, her dachshund, Angel. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack and her brother, Ray Schroeder. Private family services for Lucille will be held at a later date. Lucille's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Veronica Solis-Rohr and her staff , LeAnn Tilden at Theda Clark, and the staff of ThedaCare at Home Hospice for their compassion and loving care. Also, a very special thanks to Dan for the sacrifices he made to be able to be her constant caregiver.
