Obituary
Lorraine Verna Jankowski, age 84, died of cancer on July 19, 2021 with her family at her side. Thankfully, her illness was of short duration with little pain.
Born on May 2, 1937 to Stella (Werner) and Joseph Jach, she was raised by her Grandma Wippich on the family farm in Seymour, Wisconsin.
She married Robert F. Jankowski and together they raised two children in Neenah along with their dog, Snowball.
Lorraine was an incredibly supportive mother. She was known as the neighborhood mom where all the kids were always welcome. Her grandchildren were the absolute joys of her life. Raising flowers was a passion and she grew the most beautiful geraniums and peonies. She loved to loudly cheer on the Marquette Golden Eagles Basketball Team. Lorraine and Robert were known to be stunning Polka Dancers throughout the State of Wisconsin. She was a devoted member of St. Margaret Mary Parish and had a strong belief in God. The best life lesson she has passed on is: Never go to bed mad at each other.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Michael; grandson, Brian Paulus; brothers, Alvin and Celestine Jach, and half-brother, James Werner.
Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Jeff) Paulus and their children: Sara and Alyssa Paulus; half-sisters: Alice (Al) Leurquin; Nancy (Dale) Pett; half-brother, Jerry (Chris) Werner. She is also survived by in-laws: Carl and Joyce Jankowski; Vern and Lorraine Jankowski; and Tom Jankowski; and by nieces and nephews: Dale Jach; Jean Ann Schroeder; Jim Jankowski; Shelby Truesdail; Sharon Giles, Matt Jankowski; and Adam Jankowski.
Lorraine's family is so appreciative of the understanding, patience, and hard work of the caregivers of American Grand Assisted Living, Heartland Hospice, and Kay's Salon. You are all incredibly special people. May life treat you well. Be kind to yourself.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at St. Margaret Mary Parish, 620 Division St., Neenah, with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Lorraine will be laid to rest along Robert in St. Margaret Cemetery.
