SHIRLEY SCHUELKE

Shirley R. Schuelke, age 87, of Neenah passed away on Friday morning, October 17, 2014 at Bridgewood Nursing Center. She was born on June 7, 1927 in Shawano, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Merril and Rose (Haefs) Mathison. Shirley graduated from Neenah High School in 1945. On October 5, 1946 she married Harland "Bud" Schuelke. Their marriage was blessed with 68 wonderful years, two daughters, two sons, eight grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren so far. Shirley was a member of First United Methodist Church of Neenah, where she volunteered much of her time. She also was involved with Best Friends of Neenah/Menasha, Community Table, Meals on Wheels, and Washington School. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends. She was a talented cook and baker, and she enjoyed counted cross stitching. Above all, Shirley loved being "Nanny." She and Bud attended countless soccer games, swim meets, softball games, and other events; these events filled them with pride. Shirley's kind, nurturing, selfless spirit, along with her beautiful smile will be forever missed by all who knew her and loved her. She is survived by her beloved husband, Bud; her daughters: Lynn (Tom) Holm, Berlin, Lori (Tom) Long, Larsen; sons: Mark (Marjean) Schuelke, Winchester, Michael (Susan) Schuelke, Neenah; grandchildren: Kelly (Ryan) Eichman, Brad (Nita) Schuelke, Derek (Sp. Friend Becky) Holm, Cassandra (Kyle) Kulibert, Ryan (Fiancee Jen) Holm, Whitney (Ian) Armstrong, Ariel (Dylan) Schmoldt, Morgen (Fiance Shawn) Long; great grandchildren: Evelyn, Davis, Beckham, and soon-to-be Baby Kulibert; a sister, Mavis Ganzer, Neenah; a brother, Douglas Mathison, Neenah. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Everett Mathison; sisters-in-law: Myrtle Mathison, Barb Mathison; brother-in-law, Vern Ganzer. The Funeral Service for Shirley will be held on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Neenah (108 W. Doty Ave.) with Revs. Mark Geisthardt and Tony Fuller officiating. Friends will be received directly at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Entombment will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
