MARION SCHEER

Marion L. Scheer, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018.  Born on in the fall of 1926 to the late Lester and Irene Reinke, she was the oldest of four. Marion and John F. Scheer were married for sixty-five years beginning November 28, 1946.  Having lost her mother at a tender age, Marion became “mom” to her youngest siblings and mother to five children. She loved her friends dearly, enjoyed spending time with them and never hesitated to offer a genuine smile to all that she met.

She solved many of life's challenges with her creativity. When the family negotiated land for a cabin, she designed their A-frame using old barn boards to clad the frame.  A retreat for all who visited.   She was always creating something: hats, deer skin jackets, soap, weaving rugs, quilts or wedding dresses.  Life with mom was never boring.  She will be missed.

She was an original member of the Winnebago Archers and volunteered at the “Y” teaching swimming to people with disabilities. Marion regularly gave blood and was proud to have donated almost two gallons.  She loved nature and all living things.

Marion is survived by her children: John “Jo” (significant other Linda Tetzloff) Scheer, OR, Anne (significant other Robert I. Miller) Scheer, ME, Madelyn (significant other Mal Jones) Scheer, WI, Irene “Renee” Scheer, WI, and Ted L. Scheer, U.S. Virgin Islands; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother Marvin (Sue) Reinke, PA; and sister-in-law Carol Reinke of WI. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband John F. Scheer and brothers Lester Reinke and James Reinke.

A memorial visitation will be held at Westgor Funeral Home, Saturday, June 30, 2-4 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated in mom's name to:
