MELVIN SCHULTZ

Melvin G. Schultz, age 85, of Neenah passed away on Friday morning, July 8, 2016 at Theda Clark Medical Center after a brief, yet hard-fought battle with lung cancer.  He was born on November 3, 1930 in Cecil, Wisconsin son of the late Emerald and Anna (Taylor) Schultz.  On January 10, 1959 Melvin married Carol J. Scott and lovingly brought her small family into his life.  The couple was then blessed with more children, for a total of seven, and celebrated 57 years of marriage this year.  Melvin and Carol owned and operated MC Schultz Transport, and Melvin loved driving truck.  He was always tinkering with motors, working hard in his yard, and loved casino trips with Carol.  His family will tell you that Melvin was a “farmer at heart,” and they will miss this hard-working, outgoing family man.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; his daughters: Christine (John) Gehrke, Neenah; Patricia (Sp. friend Rick Frank) Leach, Menasha; Karen (Larry) Vander Hyden, Menasha; Jean (Mark) Larson, Neenah; Cindy O'Brien, Neenah; sons: Michael (Peggy) Schultz, Neenah; Douglas (Traci) Schultz, Appleton; grandchildren: Ashley and Jessica Gehrke; Shannon and Nicholas Leach; Steven and Adam (Kylie) Vander Hyden; Joshua (Sammy) and Spencer Schultz; Samantha Patterson; Holly Larson; Courtney (Sp. friend Joey Kraft) and Brittney O'Brien; 11 great grandchildren; sisters: Eileen Schuh, Brillion; Alice Duellman, Manitowoc; Patsy (Wendell) Ott, Stoughton; Pearl Schneider, Green Bay; brother-in-law Ron Schroeder; very special friends Barb and Dale Knaack; several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother Randall; sisters: Lu Schroeder and Helen (Dick) Eckberg; brothers-in-law: Rueben Schneider, Louie Duellman, and Raymond Schuh.

The Funeral Service for Melvin will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Shrine of Heaven Chapel at Greenlawn Memorial Park (1451 Green Valley Road, Neenah) with Rev. Paul L. Holte officiating.  Friends will be received directly at the chapel from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.  Entombment in the Mausoleum will take place immediately following the funeral service.
