Obituary
Elizabeth A. Printz, age 80, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, September 1, 2022. She was born July 15, 1942, in Chicago, IL, daughter of the late Earl and Bernice Carlson.
Liz married Richard Printz on June 29, 1968, in Waupaca and they celebrated 54 years of marriage this year. She was a 1st grade teacher at Washington Elementary School and then helped as a long-term substitute teacher in the Neenah school district. Liz also volunteered as a CCD teacher, helping with First Communion at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Menasha.
Liz and Rich lived on Doty Island for 40+ years. They hosted many 4th of July parties and would celebrate New Year's having dinner at George's Steakhouse.
Liz loved to read a good mystery novel. She always had multiple 500-page books at home to read. Liz played piano and enjoyed all kinds of music. She attended many school activities to watch her kids and grandchildren participate. She was an avid fan of all the Wisconsin sports teams, especially Wisconsin Badgers basketball. Because she grew up in Chicago she was a Cubs fan, but realized the Brewers where the way to go. She enjoyed going to the PAC for musicals and various concerts. Liz also liked an occasional trip to the casino here and there where the nickel machines always called her name. Christmas at grandmas house was always filled with presents and the aroma her wonderful Lasagna. She took various vacations and bus trips with family and friends including Las Vegas, Alaska, Nova Scotia, California, Arizona and Door County.
A favorite quote of hers was, “just be yourself and be good to people.” Liz always had a positive attitude, even through her medical issues.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; daughter, Christine (Mike Kirst) Printz; son, Scott (Elizabeth) Printz; two grandsons: Michael and Samuel.
The family would like to give special thanks to Liz's care team at Oak Park Place and Moments Hospice.
The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at St. Gabriel Parish 900 Geiger St, Neenah, WI 54956, with Fr. Bob officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of Mass. In lieu of flowers a donation in her name will be made to the Neenah school district athletic department and drama club.
