DAVID PEPERKORN

David Allen Peperkorn, 76, passed away on Monday September 6, 2021 after a valiant battle against pancreatic cancer. He was born January 14, 1945, in Julesburg, Colorado, son of the late Wilbur and Ardis (O'Dell) Peperkorn. David married the love of his life, Barbara Mooney on July 24, 1966. They celebrated 49 years together before Barbara preceded David in death on December 23, 2015.

David worked for Presto Products in the Human Resources Department for 33 years and retired in 2006 as the Director of Human Resources.

He enjoyed sharing his musical talents by singing in the church choir and playing piano while accompanying Menasha High School choir students during concerts and Solo and Ensemble contests.  David was an avid golfer and also enjoyed playing cards, especially with treasured friends Larry and Alice Lewis.  He took great pride in showing off his green thumb as was evidenced by his well-manicured yard filled with beautiful plants and flowers.

David was energized by serving others.  He served on the Board of Directors for Community First Credit Union and Samaritan Counseling Center.  David filled many roles and served on many committees at Congregational United Church of Christ, Neenah/Menasha.  He was also a mentor for several special young men through Best Friends and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

David's first love, however, was always his family.  He would frequently hop in the car with his twin brother Dennis and take road trips to the East and West Coasts and everywhere in between to visit his sisters, nieces, nephews and their families.  His greatest joy was the time he got to spend with his five grandchildren, cheering them on as they pursued their talents. 

David is survived by his three sons: Mark (Wendy), Mike (Kristine Foss-Peperkorn), and Matt (Mandy); five grandchildren: Chase, Sydney, Sophia, Ethan, and Grace; two sisters: Lonita Koplar, and Janalee (Alex) Cruz; his identical twin brother, Dennis; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Memorial service for David will be 11:00 AM on Friday October 15, 2021, at Congregational United Church of Christ, Neenah/Menasha, 1511 Nicolet Blvd, Neenah, with Rev. Lynne Spencer-Smith, and Rev. David Frey co-officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday October 14, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Visitation will continue Friday morning at 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM service.  The 11:00 AM memorial service will also be live broadcast on the church's Facebook page for those who are unable to attend in person.
