Obituary
Hazel Thurk passed away peacefully on her 97th birthday surrounded by family on Sunday, October 3, in Neenah, WI. Hazel was born on October 3, 1924 in Angelica, WI, to Walter and Elsie Rossow. On July 23, 1945 she married Walter Thurk in Phoenix, Arizona.
Walter and Hazel met while working at the Manitowoc Shipyard helping to build the USS Rasher. They became better acquainted while playing on softball teams at the shipyard.
Hazel was a long-time employee of Neenah Paper and Kimberly Clark, retiring 1996.
She loved gardening, sewing, and baking, and especially loved spending time with her family. She was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Walter; parents, sisters and brothers.
Hazel is survived by children: Carol (Bill Reilly), Gerald, Marla, and Linda; grandson Derek Dachelet (MJ); and great granddaughter Claire Dachelet.
Funeral services will be private.
