Obituary
Mary Jane Ginke (Greb), 103, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday January 24, 2022. Mary was born April 28, 1919, in Appleton, daughter of the late Benjamin and Amelia (Franzke) Greb. Mary married Harold Ginke in 1945. Harold preceded Mary in death January 4, 2000.
During her remarkable 103 years, Mary was known as a compassionate humanitarian working for the Red Cross in Miami, during WWII, a social worker in Chicago, and a fierce child advocate working many years as lead teacher at Head Start at the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. Mary was an avid Master Gardener, traveler, dear friend, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Mary is survived by her four children: Harold (Ann), Liz (Jerry), Tom, and Ann (Jack); two grandchildren: Elizabeth (Andy), and Margaret (Bill); and a great – granddaughter, Ella.
In lieu of a funeral service, Mary requested her family and friends get outside and enjoy a summer day in her honor. However, if you love the Neenah Library as much as she did, please consider a donation in Mary's name.
