JACQUELINE HARTMANN

Jacqueline “Jackie” Hartmann, 89, of Neenah passed away peacefully on November 26, 2021. She was born on November 30, 1931, in Watertown, Wisconsin, the first of 12 children to the late Harvey and Marge Buss. Jackie married her high school sweetheart, Sam Hartmann, on June 6, 1953, in Watertown, where they raised their son, Mark, and daughter, Nancy, until moving to Neenah, Wisconsin in 1968. After the passing of Mark in 1970, they adopted their son, Patrick, in 1972.

Jackie's passions were her family and her faith. She was a committed wife and mother who cared for her husband, raised her children, and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an active member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Neenah. As a faithful member for over 50 years, Jackie served many roles including her Bible Study group, teaching Sunday school and volunteering for the alter guild. She and Sam also volunteered on a number of mission trips, helping both nationally by repairing flood-damaged homes and internationally by building homes in Guatemala. They also enjoyed traveling to Israel and the Holy Land, as well as touring the Luther Trail in Germany. After Sam's retirement from the Neenah Foundry, she and Sam took up golf and enjoyed spending winters at The Villages in Florida. Most recently, she and Sam enjoyed their many friends at the Highlands at Mahler Park in Neenah, having moved there in 2018. 

Jackie is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Todd) Stevenson; her son, Patrick (Claudia Arzeno) Hartmann; her grandchildren, Ashley Stevenson, Amber (Nathan) Otis, and Mariana Hartmann; and her great grandchildren, Madeline and Theodore Otis. She is further survived by her brothers Terry (Donna) Buss, Curt (Janis) Buss, and Philip (Nancy) Buss; sisters Carol Klug and Patsy Boyd; sisters-in-law Phyllis Buss, Linda Buss, and Sally Black; and many nieces and nephews. 

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Sam; her son, Mark; her parents; in-laws Herbert and Mildred Hartmann; brothers Timmy Buss, Rodger Buss, and Kenneth Buss; sisters Nancy Bus, Eileen Stewalt, and Faye Krebs; and brother-in-law Emerson Black. 

A memorial service will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 809 South Commercial St., Neenah, on Saturday, December 4, 2021. MASKS ARE MANDATORY. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The service be Neenah, WI 54956. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Jackie Hartmann Memorial at Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Neenah, or to a charity of your choice in Jackie's name.
