JANE FRANZ

Jane Franz (nee Mayhew), 75, passed away suddenly on December 18, 2021, at her residence. She was born on Sept. 5, 1946, in Plymouth, the daughter of the late Wilbur and Erna (Schaefer) Mayhew. She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1965 and went to the City College of Cosmetology School in Appleton to become a beautician which she enjoyed even past her retirement. On August 19, 1967, she married David Franz. They were married for 36 years until his passing, on March 7, 2004.

          Jane was a kind and social woman who loved her profession. She was able to talk to all her customers and hear about their lives. She held so many of them as near and dear friends. Jane worked at Amy's Westside Beauty Spot and later became the owner of A Cut Above for many years. Many a day were spent at the beauty shop with her children and shopping at the mall or vintage shops which she thoroughly enjoyed. Jane enjoyed crafting and flower arranging. She was able to share that joy with many people in her life including her church and the friends at Brookstone Senior Living. Jane loved traveling and spending quality time with her family. Jane was a caring gentle soul that touched the lives of many people. She was an “angel on Earth”.   

Jane will be greatly missed by her children, AnnMarie (David) Phelps of Neenah, Susan (Marcelo Garcia) Garcia Franz of Neenah, and her grandchildren Brittany and Peyton Phelps, and Ruminahui and Pacha Garcia Franz. She will also be missed by her sister, Margaret Field of Clatskanie, OR; brother Alan Mayhew of Plymouth, WI, her sister-in-law, Carol Franz of Neenah, sister-in-law Barbara Mayhew of Madison, WI and brother-in-law Phillip (Debi) Franz of Naperville, IL. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, David, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Mayhew, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marie and Lloyd Franz, and her brothers-in-law, Paul Franz, and Richard Field.

          Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 8^th 10:00 am until her memorial service at 11:00am at FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 108 W Doty Ave, Neenah. Masks are required. Burial will take place on a later date.

          In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made as the family honors Jane to a community memorial in her name.
