Obituary

Francis “Frank” Voissem, “Boober”, age 81, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, December 29, 2021.  He was born October 4, 1940, at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah, son of the late Antone and Otilla “Tilly” Voissem.

Frank attended St. Mary's grade school and then graduated from St. Mary's High School with the class of 1959. He served his Country in the US Army from 1959-1962. He was stationed in Korea from 1960-1961, and then was transferred to Germany during the Berlin Crisis.

Frank married Marlene Vogels on August 17, 1963. He was employed with American Can and James River from 1962-1995. Frank then retired from the  Wisconsin Tissue Mill in 1999.

Frank coached the 1000 Yarders football team for 6 years and then the St. Mary's freshman team for 4 years and then Seton Middle School for 2 years.  Frank was the Cub Master for Troop 74 at St. Gabriel's. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports. Frank was always telling jokes and stories.

Frank was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Neenah and the Menasha VFW Post #2126.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene; three children: Steve Voissem, Rick (Judi) Voissem, Laurie (Chad) Moen; seven grandchildren: Ty (Vera) Voissem, Troy (Lizzy) Voissem, Kayla Voissem, Jenna Voissem and special friend Juan Gurrola, Mitchell Moen, Makenna Moen and special friend James Perry, Mallory Moen; five brothers and sisters: Tom (Vida) Voissem, Sr. Antone Marie Voissem, Rita Robinson, Dennis (Esther) Voissem, Toni Marciniak; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Frank was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Jill Voissem; brother, Bob Voissem; two brothers-in-law: Wayne Robinson, John Marciniak; and a sister-in-law, Lois Voissem.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, January 7, 2022, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger St., Neenah, with Fr. Bob Kollath officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Military Honors with the Neenah Menasha Veterans Honor Guard will follow the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.

The family wishes to thank the nurses from ThedaCare at Home Hospice for all their care and compassion.
