DAVID RAPPERT

David J. Rappert passed away on January 5, 2022 at the age of 63. He was surrounded by his loving family.

David grew up in Menasha. He found a love for hunting and fishing with his dad, Don, and his brother, Dan. He shared his love for the outdoors with his two daughters and his four grandchildren and took pride in sharing his stories with them. David also loved the Green Bay Packers and watching NASCAR. He worked in the trades but found his passion in doing construction and home renovations. He also enjoyed fixing and repairing computers.

David was diagnosed with stage four bladder cancer in 2008. After 13 years in remission, his cancer returned in 2021. Once again, David looked at this as another obstacle and again he showed his courage in facing this challenge with a smile on his face. David came out a hero and remained strong until the end.

David will be missed by is two daughters: Rebecca (John Smith) Kettner, and Anna (Mike) Kahler; by his four grandchildren: McKenna, Jaelynn, Emmalyn, and Mason. He is further survived by his siblings: Donna (Terry) Link; Doreen (Chris) Mellberg; and Dan (Amy) Rappert; as well as by his beloved nieces and nephews.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Marie Rappert; his sister Rose; his nephew Joey Link; and by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

A memorial service for David will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.

David's family would like to thank the medical team at ThedaCare Cancer Center, especially Daisey Boehm for her years of care, and to the ThedaCare at Home Hospice team.
