June P. Schmidt, 99, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at the Gardens of Fountain Way Assisted Living Facility, Menasha.
June, the daughter of Louis and Anna Asmus, was born June 21, 1917, in Neenah.
A lifelong resident of Neenah, she married Howard O. Schmidt in 1938. They were married 58 years at the time of his death in 1996.
June was an active member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Neenah. A stay-at-home mom, June was an avid baker and enjoyed knitting, particularly sweaters, during her earlier years. She and Howard also enjoyed golf and were members of Ridgeway Country Club for many years.
She resided at the Gardens of Fountain Way the past 9 ½ years.
June is survived by a son, Thomas H. (Darlene), Greenville; a grandson, Chris (Ann), Larsen; a granddaughter, Terri (Mike) Lenz, McFarland; and two great grandchildren, Ashley Schmidt and Mason Lenz.
She was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.
A private family memorial service will be held at the Westgor Funeral Home.
