NANCY SCHMIDLI

Nancy M. Schmidli, Neenah, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton.  She was born December 4, 1933 in the Town of Oshkosh, daughter of John Sr. and Marie (Luft) Ternes, who have preceded her in death.

On September 26, 1953, Nancy married Earl K. Schmidli of Neenah at Grace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh.  They were married for 56 years and they raised four children.

Survivors include her children: Daniel (best friend, Katharine Werner-Schmidli) Sierra Vista, Arizona; Thomas (Elaine) Kewaunee; Nanette - Fremont; Jennifer (special friend, David Stafford) Neenah.  She is also survived by two sisters-in law, Mildred & Louise Schmidli both of Neenah; one brother-in-law, Mathias Salzsieder, Oshkosh; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death was her beloved husband, Earl on April 16, 2010; a son, Timothy Scott, on May 12, 1963; three brothers: David, Ronald and John Jr.; two sisters: Judith McClelland and Sandra Salzsieder; two sisters-in-law: Rebecca Schmidli and Evelyn Coon; two brothers-in-law: Emil Schmidli, Jr. and Lawrence McClelland; and a niece, Judith Bisel.

Nancy has lived in Neenah since her marriage in 1953 and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church since her marriage.  She was very active in the Mary-Martha Circle for many years.

According to Nancy's wishes, there will be a gravesite service only, held at Neenah's Oak Hill Cemetery on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Sandra Crase officiating.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in her name.

Nancy's family wishes to thank the staff at Rennes Health & Rehab – Appleton for their loving & compassionate care for the past six months; the staff at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center - Appleton; the Nursing staff at ThedaCare At Home Hospice and Cindy Rieck – communion and prayer visitor from St. Paul Lutheran Church. Your kindness will always be remembered.
