RUSSELL OESTREICH

Russell “Russ” George Oestreich, 85, was returned to the Lord's arms on March 6, 2022, peacefully surrounded by family. Russ was born July 22, 1936, in Watertown, WI to his parents George and Evelyn. He spent three decades in the military, active duty and the reserves, including fighting for his country in the Gulf War. During his time in the reserves, he also worked as a chef for multiple restaurants and clubs throughout Wisconsin. In his free time, he enjoyed cooking and catering, spending time with family, gambling trips, and spending time outdoors.

He was proceeded in death by his parents George Oestreich and Evelyn (Arnold) Krause, his ex-wife Mary (Len) Doran, his brother Herman Oestreich, brother-in-law Clyde Rickerman, daughters Jodi (Rick) Susor and Tracey (Robert “Bob”) Warren, his son Russel “Russ” Oestreich and his great-granddaughter Cassandra Warren.

Russ is survived by his sisters Ida Rickerman, Bonnie Oestreich, and Evelyn "Mickie” (Lester) Maas, his brother George (Karen) Oestreich, daughter Heidi Frank, daughter-in-law Sharon Oestreich, and grandchildren Travis (Barb) Warren, Courtney (Patrick) Bouchette, Nathan Frank, Ian Oestreich, Brenna Frank, Eli Oestreich, Sarah Susor, and great-granddaughter Genevieve “Evie” Warren.

His family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at ThedaCare Neenah for caring for him in his final weeks. 

The funeral service for Russ will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the Westgor Funeral Home, 205 W. Doty Avenue, Neenah. The visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until the time of the service. Please join the family in celebrating Russ' life.
