Obituary

Roger Monroe Orlady, 73, died unexpectedly Monday April 18, 2022, at his home. He was born on February 3, 1949, in LaGrange, IL; son of the late Harry and Ellen (Monroe) Orlady. Roger married Nancy Jacobson on June 10, 1978.

Roger earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with an Accounting emphasis, from the University of Southern California. He was a CPA, and a National Merit Scholar. Prior to starting his own consulting business, Roger was Chief Financial Executive for two manufacturing companies. He was recognized in 2006 as a Wisconsin Innovation Champion, by the Wisconsin Innovation Service Center.

Roger enjoyed life to the fullest. He had a great sense of curiosity and was an avid sports fan. In his younger days, Roger loved to run, he competed in seven marathons, including one in Helsinki, Finland, and another in Stockholm, Sweden. In his later years, Roger enjoyed playing tennis, and was an avid USC Trojan fan.

Roger is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Nancy; his two sisters: Susan (John) Brown, and Linda Orlady;  brother, Craig Orlady; three sisters in-law: Barbara Schmitt, Janet Fremstad, and Sonnie Jacobson; and twelve nieces and nephews.

Roger was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Neenah. Memorial service for Roger will be 12:00 PM (noon) on Monday April 25, 2022, at ST. PAUL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 200 N. Commercial St; Neenah, with Rev. Amy Engebose officiating. Visitation will be held at the church Monday morning beginning at 10:00 AM until the 12:00 PM service.

Roger's family would like to extend a special thank you to Rev. Amy Engebose, funeral director, Matthew MacKenzie, and police officers, Devon Lehman, and Adrian Todd.

Roger touched the lives of many, many people. The world was a better place because Roger was in it.

I was privileged to have worked with Roger in building the Wisconsin Innovation Network Northeast and to have spent time with him talking about new venture creation. We was a real asset to our entrepreneurial community as he assisted many startups. Roger was a thoughtful, creative and dedicated person. He will be greatly missed.

How sad to lose a person like Roger. Every thing he became involved with became better. I served with him on the board of Fox Cities Greenways and as a member of PopEarth. His contributions raised the level of the group. I will miss him dearly.

Roger ran a marathon for Leukemia with my daughter, Erin as his survivor match. I remember Roger as a kind, dynamic and motivated gentleman. You have our sincere sympathy at the loss of a great man.

A shock to hear that Roger is gone. He was the key person behind the great Fox Valley WIN meetings when I was first involved a dozen ago. Great attendance and great presentations- it was never the same when he no longer put them together. RIP Roger......................................
