Obituary
On April 17, 2022, Easter Sunday, one of Gods greatest creations got her wings. Verna Rose Schink (Lontkowski) of Menasha was surrounded in love by her family as she fell asleep. Verna was born to the late Bernard and Catherine Lontkowski on July 23, 1935. Verna was the youngest child of thirteen. Verna attended St. Mary's school when she met the love of her life, Wayne Schink. They shared 67 amazing years together.
Verna started her career at Twin Cities Savings and Loan and then managed at Gimbels dept. store and Super Value. She was a beautiful loving wife and mother of five who blessed our lives with her intelligence and beauty, inside and out. Devoted to her family and keeping us all close with camping, get togethers up-north, cookouts around the pool, and traveling in the RV.
Always having fun, she loved bowling on leagues, playing cards, darts, dancing, listening to music, going to the casino, gardening, going to the craft shows in Eagle River, & cheering on the Packers and Brewers. Wherever she was her presence would brighten up the room. She was a warmhearted, thoughtful, kind, and friendly lady with lots of class and style. She always looked glamorous with her clothes and her long blonde hair styled just perfect and her sparkling jewelry to add that extra bling.
Verna is survived by her husband Wayne Schink, her five children: Dennis Schink, Terry Schink (Vicki), Barb (Tim) Reese, Kathy (Greg) Westphal, and Amy (Bob) Zwick. Seven grandchildren; Melissa (Tim) Ludvigsen, Renee (Adam) Carthew, Timothy (Chelsea) Niemuth, Nicole Tangney, Alyssa (Grant) Westphal, Jordan (Nancy) Zwick, and Hunter Zwick. Eight great-grandchildren; Dustin (Katie), Kody (Abby), and Cole Ludvigsen, Talia Tangney, Mason and Blake Carthew, Aubrey and Norah Niemuth. Two great-great grandchildren; Kinley and Declan Ludvigsen. Beloved sister Theresa Beckman, and sister-in-law Becky Ebben. Many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents; mother and father-in-law, Tony and Stella Ermers, grandson Laudan Westphal, Sisters and brothers; Sr. M Edmundine, Sr. M Limana, Stanley Grey, John Lontkowski, Peter (Hildegarde), Frank (Clara), Anthony (Florance), Mary (Bernard) Derby, Helen (Sam) Belpedio, Ann (Harold) Frank, and Rose (Cliff) Oliver; brothers-in-law; Al Beckman, Michael Bogdanski and David Ebben.
A mass celebrating her life will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 528 Second Street, Menasha, with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
