PATRICIA MCCARRY

Patricia (Pat) Mae McCarry, age 81, passed away peacefully in her home in Neenah, Wisconsin on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, with her husband, Randy, at her side. She was born January 25, 1941 in Antigo, Wisconsin to the late Frank and Irma Schumitsch.

Pat lived a long and active life with her beloved husband, Randolph McCarry, of 62 years, whom she married on October 3, 1959 at St. John Catholic Church in Antigo.

Pat enjoyed traveling, skiing, snorkeling, golf, tennis, reading, and walking her Border Collies.

Pat had a very keen mind and a great work ethic. In the early years, Pat worked as a medical technologist. She later attended the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh to pursue a degree in chemistry while she continued to work full-time and help her children to launch into the world. She graduated on the Dean's List with a BS in Chemistry simultaneously with two of her children. She then was employed as a Research Chemist at American National Can where she achieved two federal patents for sealing products.

Pat was a very faithful member of her church throughout her life. Raised in a Catholic School system, she was careful to bless her children with religious classes and a faith in God. She also blessed other parent's children as she taught CCD at St. Gabriel's for several years. Her own example in service, compassion and empathy was the most prominent lesson she ever gave.

Pat will be missed with broken hearts by her husband Randy and her children Craig McCarry (Mary), Ronald McCarry (Tammy), Sue Prellwitz (John), and Robert McCarry (Nancy). She was preceded in death by her son, Michael and daughter Linda (Robert Srnka). Brothers Robert, Elsworth, Gilbert, Donald, and sister Doris Younger. She will also be missed with so much love from her fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and two beloved siblings, Arthur Schumitsch and Louise Korth.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger Street, Neenah, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held at 10:30 am with the service at 11:30 am. A lunch will be served immediately afterwards. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude's Children Hospital or a local animal shelter in memory of Patricia.

Randy and his children would like to express their appreciation to the loving service extended by both HomeCare Assistance and ThedaCare At-Home Hospice during Pat's final weeks, as well as gratitude to the multitude of doctors, nurses and other staff who assisted Pat with her medical care.
