MARILYN LEEDOM

Marilyn M. Leedom, age 86 of Menasha, passed away Friday, April 29, 2022. She was born August 6, 1935 to the late Edward and Ella (Rymer) O'Bright and was married to James B. Leedom II, of Milwaukee, WI.

Marilyn received a nursing degree in 1956. She worked for Appleton Medical Center on the first open heart team as a surgical nurse until retirement. She and Jim enjoyed traveling around the world, and in her free time, she greatly enjoyed quilting, sewing and cooking. Marilyn was an award-winning quilter who was very generous with her talent, gifting many of her quilts. Marilyn will be remembered as a very social and friendly person.  

She is survived by her brother, Duane O'Bright; her sister, Kathleen Oelrich; and by many nieces, nephews, and their families. She was preceded in death by Jim, February 17, 2012; her brother, Jerome (Diane) O'Bright; her sister, Rosemary (Harry) Verkuilen; her brother-in-law, Lloyd Oelrich; and her sister-in-law, Alice O'Bright.

A funeral service for Marilyn will be held at 5:00 pm on Thursday, May 5, at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until the hour of service. Marilyn will join Jim at Resthaven Cemetery.

Marilyn's family would like to extend a warm thank you to the nurses, doctors and staff of ThedaCare Medical Center- Neenah, specifically the Emergency Department and Neurology Department. Thank you also to all of her many caregivers, especially Mechelle, for their care, compassion, and support.

A memorial fund is being established.
