Randolph McCarry
December 16, 1938 - September 12, 2025
Obituary
Randolph A. McCarry, age 86, passed away peacefully in his home in Neenah, WI, on Friday, September 12, 2025, with his children at his side. He was born December 16,1938, in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, to the late Randy and Rose McCarry.
Randy lived a long and active life with his wife Patricia McCarry. They were joined in Marriage October 3, 1959, at St. John Catholic Church in Antigo WI. Randy is now reunited with Patricia following her passing in 2022.
Randy enjoyed all sports: He pitched in class A fast Pitch softball, played Men’s basketball at the YMCA for years, loved to Golf, sailing his own boat, downhill skiing all over the world,
flying his airplane (Cessna 182R) while being a certified IFR Pilot and traveling with his wife.
Randy had a very keen mind and a great work ethic, he graduated from Flint Central High school and signed up for the Air Force. After finishing basic training as a radar technician, he was stationed in Japan for 2 years (and had several Stories to tell about the experience). Randy was then transferred to Oklahoma City, OK, where he spent a year. Next, he then was stationed in Antigo, WI, where he met his wife and had their first child. Then they were transferred to Chicago to work with the FAA to help with the new Radar upgrades for O’Hare airport. After putting in 6 years of service (and having 4 more children), Randy took his GI benefits and went to college at Wayne State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, graduating In 1970. During this time Randy was a full-time student, held a Job in a repair shop and raised a family. NO, IT CAN’T BE DONE was not something in his thought process. In his spare time, he kept up the repairs on a 1960 Corvette because it was his daily driver to go to school year round, (Mom drove the new car).
After Graduation, Randy accepted a job as the Electrical Engineering Manager with Proctor and Gambel, and the family moved to Cheboygan Mi. After 6 years in Cheboygan, Randy took a job offer to work as the Electrical Engineering Manager for Wisconsin Tissue Mills in Menasha WI. Leaving Procter and Gamble was a tough decision but Randy thought that the Fox Vally Area had more to offer his growing family.
Some years passed and Randy found his next challenge at Thilmany Pulp and Paper Company in Kaukauna WI. Then in 1984, and with a couple of friends, started his own conveyor company, Pack Air Inc., located in Neenah, WI. Randy retired in 2007 and relocated to a more laidback setting in Waupaca, WI. As time went by they decided to move one final time and relocating back to Neenah.
Randy will be missed with broken hearts by his children: Craig McCarry (Mary), Ronald McCarry (Tammy), Sue Prellwitz (John), Robert McCarry (Nancy). Randy was preceded in death by son, Michael McCarry; Daughter, Linda (Srnka) (Robert). He will also be missed
with so much love from his fourteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2025, at St Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger St, Neenah, WI. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am with service beginning at 11:30 am. Military Honors with the Neenah/Menasha Veterans Honor Guard immediately afterwords and then lunch served at the Church.
Randy and his children would like to express their appreciation to the loving service extended both from HomeCare Assistance and Compassus St Elizabeth’s Hospice during Randy’s finale day, as well as the gratitude to the multiple doctors, nurses and staff who assisted Randy in his medical care.
