Obituary

Kenneth R. Harder, age 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. He was born April 19, 1948, in Fond du Lac, son of the late Raymond and Naomi (Behnke) Harder.

Ken graduated from Hilbert High School in 1966. He then enlisted in the US Army, serving in the Heavy Artillery Division, during Vietnam from 1967-1969.

Ken was employed with Les Stump Ford for 46 years until his retirement in 2017. He married Sharon Schilling on November 20, 1971. Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and classic cars. Ken also loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ken was a long-time member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Appleton, member of American Legion Post #33 of Neenah, and a member at Ridgeway Country Club.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon; two daughters: Monica Harder, Shelly (Bradley) Giebisch; two grandchildren: Paige (Ross) Vanden Hoogen, Elijah Erdmann; three great-grandchildren: Theia, Talia and Tatum; four brothers: Ron (Carol) Harder, Gene (Cheryl) Harder, Everett (Tamra) Harder, Bruce Harder; and two sisters: Judith Neumann, Donna (Ed) Moore.

The funeral service for Ken will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2220 E. College Ave., Appleton, with Rev. Timothy Seabaugh officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 AM until the hour of service. Full Military Honors will be held with the US Army and the Neenah Menasha Veterans Honor Guard.
