CINDY AVERBECK

Cindy Ann Averbeck, 64, died unexpectedly at her residence on Tuesday June 28, 2022. She was born in New Glarus, WI; on February 6, 1958, daughter of Stan and Donna (Reuter) Rupnow. Cindy married Randy Averbeck on September 18, 1976.

Cindy worked at JJ Keller, retiring in 2019. While her official title there was editorial support coordinator, the reality was more like, “the one everyone goes to get anything done, or when something went wrong.” Cindy was always willing to help any peer no matter the question or issue, she was a true team player. She enjoyed a low-key lifestyle, hanging out with family and close friends. Cindy enjoyed taking regular trips to New Glarus to visit her mom, Donna. She often had a list of goodies to deliver. She enjoyed homemade meals with her mom, and especially loved the leftovers that were sent home with her, as well as a variety of frozen homemade soups that her mom had made in advance to send along also. Donna and Cindy enjoyed cheering on the Badgers together.

Cindy also enjoyed all her fun daily conversations, afternoon get togethers, casino trips, lunch dates, road trips, and her Packer parties, with her close friends, Lisa Dennis, and Deb and Tom Kerrigan. Cindy was known for her famous olive spread with crackers, as her dish to pass.

Cindy is survived by her son, Erik; husband, Randy; mother, Donna Rupnow; uncles and aunts: Russ (Marie) Reuter, Don (Jeanette) Rupnow, Sandra Frontzak, and Mary Austin; several close, loving cousins; and Cindy's “buddy,” Gizmo, her cat, who was often curled up on his blanket with Cindy on the couch. She often sent pictures of Gizmo to her friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Stan; brother, Mark; sister, Jeanne; her grandparents: Bill (Alice) Rupnow, and Clarence (Adeline) Reuter; and her uncle, Don Austin.

A celebration for Cindy will be held at a later date.
