Obituary
Marion B. Sokel, age 88 of Menasha, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, in her home on Friday, August 26, 2022. She was born January 4, 1934 to the late Leo and Josephine Sobiesczyk.
Marion loved to cook and garden and could never turn down hunting for a bargain. She enjoyed working for Younkers into her early eighties and retired only shortly before they closed.
Marion is survived by her sons: Michael (Sue) Sokel; Jeffrey (Julie) Sokel; and Brian Sokel; as well as by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sisters: Josephine (Don) Johnson, Trish Thebo, and Chris Leiterman; sister-in-law Angie; brothers: James (Helen), Edward, Eugene (Ikuka), Samuel (Owallah), and Ernie; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Marion was preceded in death by her sister Bibbie and two brothers Leonard and Harry. Also, by her grandson, Shane Sokel; and special friends, Bill Taves and Clyde, as well as by two infant siblings.
A graveside service for Marion will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, September 12, 2022 at St. John The Baptist Cemetery, Olde Midway Road, Menasha, WI.
