Obituary

Rachel Leota Main, 91, died peacefully Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Oakridge Gardens, Menasha. She was born in Rockford, IL on October 6, 1930, daughter of the late Troy and Chrystie (Anfinson) Main.

Rachel worked for over 35 years at the Valley Inn, Neenah, retiring in 2008. She enjoyed shopping, antiquing, and rummaging. She was a crafty and creative lady. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Rachel is survived by her four children: three daughters: Cheryl Gillespie, Debbie (Scott) Rogers, and Denice (Jesse) Cooper; her son, Brian (Cindy) Powell; 11 grandchildren: Sarah (Jason) Gillespie, Dallas (Wendy) Gillespie, Tammy (Chris) Collar, Brandon (Vanessa) Rogers, Hayley (Dalton) Clough, Trent Rogers, Jessica (David) Horton, Eric Sherburn, Jodi (Dustin) Bechtold, James (Julie) Powell and Nicole Powell; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Vickie (Scott) Petersen; and five brothers: Ron (Arlene); Larry (Diane); Dennis; Greg (Sue); and Rudy Main; and special friends, Patti Schuch and Pat Davis. She was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Main.

In keeping with Rachel's wishes, no services will be held. Rachel's family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at Oakridge Gardens and ThedaCare Cancer Center for their care and compassion.

I have such fond memories of this wonderful sweet lady. I worked with her at the Valley Inn, and loved every minute we worked together. She was just so sweet and kind, and a person who had a great work ethic. Its ironic but while having dinner with friends in Menasha on Sunday evening we spoke of her, and later that eveing I am reading the Sunday paper, and read her obituary. I will miss sending her the "recycled" birthday card on Oct. 6th. I will always have kind and wonderful thoughts of Rachel.
