Obituary
Roland G. Brandt, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 1, 2023. He was born July 7, 1938, son of the late Martin C. and Katharine H. (nee Guenther) Brandt, at Sheboygan, WI. He was baptized August 14, 1938, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, at Sheboygan Falls, WI.
Roland's family moved to Milwaukee in 1940. Besides attending public schools, he received his Sunday School and religious training and was confirmed April 6, 1952, at HEPHATA Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. On May 7, 1977, he married the love of his life, Carol Lauterbach, at St. John's Lutheran Church, West Bend, by the bride's father, Rev. Wm. A. Lauterbach, with their wedding sermon on “CLEAVE”, Christ the Lord, Every Answer to the Very End, given by the bride's brother, Rev. W. Eugene Lauterbach.
Roland graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee in 1956. He attended the United School of Electronics in Milwaukee and then graduated with an Associate's degree in electronics from Milwaukee Vocational School. Roland worked in Milwaukee for 10 years, including four years in electronics, before joining AMF as a Field Service Engineer in 1970, and then moved to Neenah and worked for them for 7 years. He was then self-employed for 26 years as owner of Brandt TV and Electronics from 1978-2004.
Roland joined Peace Lutheran Church in 1970 and served as an Elder and on the boards of Evangelism and Stewardship. Rollie and Carol especially enjoyed attending Bible Class and singing in the church choir. They also liked traveling, camping, and he also enjoyed golfing with friends.
Roland is survived by his wife, Carol, of 45 ½ years; his sister, Ruth Jordan, of Onalaska; a niece, Brenda Jordan, of Onalaska; “brother”, James (Sheryl) Piepenbrink and family, including his god child, Rachel, and her family, his grand godchildren; and several nieces and nephews-in-law.
Roland was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Alvin Jordan; and 2 nephews: Randolph Jordan and Richard Jordan.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Peace Lutheran Church, 1228 S. Park Avenue, Neenah, with Rev. Ricky Schroeder officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Pallbearers will be nieces, nephews and friends. The service will be lived streamed. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Lutheran Heritage Foundation, who provide Bible materials in foreign languages.
