Obituary

Kathryn A. Johnson, age 39, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 2, 2023. She was born January 25, 1983, in Ripon, WI, daughter of Tom and Karen Gruetzmacher.

Katie graduated from Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac in 2001. In 2002, she was baptized at Faith Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. She went on to earn a degree in Business Management from Moraine Park Technical College. She was then employed at Associated Bank in Fond du lac and later Oshkosh where she met the love of her life, Jeff. Katie and Jeff Johnson were married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Oshkosh on October 19, 2007.

Katie had the drive and passion for helping others which led her to pursue a degree in nursing. She earned her RN degree from Moraine Park Technical College in 2010. She worked for Agnesian Healthcare

and ThedaCare throughout her career in different specialties and supervisory roles until she had theopportunity to be a stay at home mom. Katie loved being at home with her kids - taking pictures, listening/dancing to music, game nights and just being silly.

Katie was known for her bright and infectious smile. She could light up a room with her big dimples and beautiful laugh. She was a Jack of all trades and was always on the go. She was a dedicated planner and a very organized person. She enjoyed attending school events and loved watching her kids soccer games. She always said that her children were her greatest blessings.

Katie and Jeff are members of Eternal Love Lutheran Church in Menasha.

Katie is survived by her husband, Jeff; three children: Liam (11), Nora (7) and Veda (4); her parents, Tom and Karen Gruetzmacher; a brother, Matt Gruetzmacher; her sister, Kia (Rob) Goncalo; nieces and nephews: Christopher (16) and Mitchell (16) Gruetzmacher, Delilah (10) and Piper (6) Goncalo; along with numerous other relatives.

Katie was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Dennis and Sue Johnson; and her grandparents: Carl and Doris Gruetzmacher, Kenneth and Irene Richardson.

The funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Eternal Love Lutheran Church, 1011 E. Midway Road, Appleton, with Pastor Dave Backus officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 pm until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
