DONNA BLICKHAHN

October 05, 1939 - January 24, 2023

Obituary

Donna Frances Blickhahn went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ on January 24, 2023. Donna was born on October 5, 1939, in Marinette, WI to Edward and Frances Guth of Porterfield, WI. She attended Marinette High School and graduated in 1957, as valedictorian of her class. Her outstanding credentials and achievements in high school allowed Donna to begin her work career as a secretary to the Vice President of Sales at Ansul Chemical Company in Marinette. She met the love of her life, Ronald Blickhahn, in 1955, and was married to Ron just before they traveled to Houghton, Michigan, where Ron enrolled in Michigan Technological University.

Donna became a Mom to Beth and Lori while at Michigan Tech. Beth and Lori were such a joy to have in the family.  After Ron's graduation, Bret and Amy joined the family. They made life complete. Donna was a devoted mother who loved her children more than anything. They were always in her heart and on her mind. Her love, understanding and dedication enabled her to bless the family in many ways.  She enjoyed sewing for the children, cross-stitching, gardening, Bible studies, spending time with family and friends, traveling and enjoying the beauty of God's creation. In particular, she enjoyed birds and bunnies. She always had time to help anyone who needed something, was a friend to many and always quiet and gentle.

Donna re-entered the work force after all the children were in school as she felt strongly that the best place for a Mom was at home when the children were growing up. As the family grew, Donna was the first to recognize the importance of having Christ in their lives. She loved the Lord and began to minister as a church or Pastor's secretary whenever the family moved to a new home. Her quiet but strong love of the Lord was a tremendous help to the family.

As a church secretary she had many opportunities to help others and never failed to do so. She ministered by intervening for those whom she became aware of through her church affiliations, Rawhide Boys Ranch, Harbor House Domestic Abuse Center and Bible studies. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and wife, one who patiently helped others and a dear friend to many.

Survivors include her husband, Ron; children: Beth of Stokesdale, NC; Lori (Jeffery) of Knoxville, TN; Bret (Jeri) of Oshkosh, WI; Amy of Lake Elsinore, CA.  Grandchildren: Alex, Morgan, Kevin (Sydney), Kyle, Daniel and Lauren and great-grandchildren: Braxton and Hayden; as well as a brother and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; three siblings; and her grandson, Christopher.

A private Celebration Service was held at Evergreen Senior Living Center in Oshkosh, WI. The family would like to thank the staff of Evergreen Sharehaven Home for all their wonderful care of Donna. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Bright Focus Foundation, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871, info@brightfocus.com, for Alzheimer's Disease Research.
