LOUISE SCHMIDLI

On June 3, 2023 Louise Alma Schmidli passed away at New Perspective, Island Shores in Neenah, WI.  Louise was born on Dec. 11, 1928 to the late Emil and Alma Schmidli.  She was a lifelong resident of Neenah, aside from a short attempt to be a “California Girl” in her younger days!  She came back to Neenah, to be near family.  

Louise retired from James River Corporation in 1989 after 40 years of employment.  They were implementing a computer system and she decided she did not want to learn it!  In retirement she spent countless hours gardening and doing cross stitch.  She took pride in knitting hats and mittens- most of which she donated.  She was also an avid reader and enjoyed almost any genre of book.  In later years, she and her sister Milly spent many days doing arts and crafts or playing outside with Alex & Alivia, the children of nephew Michael (Melissa) Coon.  Those are very special memories for Alex and Alivia.

She is survived by her sister Mildred Schmidli.  She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her brother, Emil and his wife Becky; brother Earl and his wife Nancy; and sister Evelyn Coon.

As were Louise's wishes, funeral services for will be held at her gravesite, in Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Amy Engebose officiating.  Services will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023 at 1:00 PM.

The Family wishes to express thanks to ThedaCare Hospice, the staff at Island Shores and a special thank you to Cindy, from St. Paul.  Her visits and prayers were a source of comfort to Louise these past couple of years…..along with her delivery of chocolate shakes!
