RICKEY HANSON

July 06, 1955 - July 05, 2023

Obituary

Rick A. Hanson, 67, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.  He was born on July 6, 1955, in Neenah, Wisconsin, the son of Merlyn and Donna (Houser) Hanson.

Rick dedicated his entire career to the Wisconsin Tissue Mill, which spanned over 40 years.  He loved working and being productive.

Rick had the gift of many lifelong friendships, along with a passion for  tinkering on muscle cars (as long as it was a Ford) with his buddies.  He spent many hours snowmobiling with friends, as well as hunting and fishing with his best buddy, Jim Broehm.

Even though he was proud of his home on Lake Poygan, with its beautiful views, he especially enjoyed time spent in the Northwoods with friends in addition to his hunting retreat in Ogema, Wisconsin.

Rick is survived by his mother:  Donna, and brother Steve (Chris).  He was preceded in death by his father:  Merlyn, and brother, David.  He is further survived by nieces: Emily (Ben) DeMoulin;  Anna (Ben) Geyer, and nephews Bradley Kaster and Nick (Liz) Kaster; and many great nieces and great nephews.

A memorial service will take place at 4:00 p.m., Sunday afternoon, July 16, 2023 at Westgor Funeral Home, 205 W. Doty Street, Neenah.  Friends will be welcomed preceding the service, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Neenah Boys/Girls Brigade, in his memory. Following the service, all are welcome to join the family at the Fellowship Center at Calvary Bible Church, 1450 Oakridge Road, Neenah for food and fellowship.

A special thank you to brother, Steve, for his compassionate care and dedication to helping Rick thrive in his last few years.

To the Hanson family. Very sorry to her of Rick's passing. Never forgot that first Mustang and how proud he was of that car. Loosing a son or brother is never easy. I hope the memories you have of Rick can soften the pain and bring a smile in the coming days. From a chevy guy to a Ford guy. R. I. P.

I'm so sad to hear about Rick's passing--my warmest thoughts go out to the Hanson family. Rick was the nicest guy you would ever meet, always kind and ready to laugh, even seemed to get a kick out of the endless shenanigans and amusing goings on of little brother Steve and his gang. These Hanson family memories are real treasures. My deepest sympathies to you Donna and Steve, and to all who knew Rick--he will be missed but fondly remembered.
