Obituary

Karen Jean Weinandt, 74, died Thursday July 13, 2023, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Neenah. She was born June 10, 1949, in Appleton, daughter of the late Robert and Beverly (Shackelford) Jacobs. Karen married Anthony Weinandt Sr; on October 21, 1972. They spent 50 wonderful years together.

Karen's vivacious energy and contagious smile allowed her to excel in a multitude of jobs. She was most known around town as the friendly waitress at Waverly and George's Steak House, teller at Prospera and receptionist at Salon Expressions. Everyone flocked just to see her.

She enjoyed talking on the phone, baking (her famous black bottom cupcakes), traveling, the Brewers, but most importantly spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. 

Karen is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Tony; their three children: Amie (Daniel) Cisneros, Stacy (Josh) Berman, Anthony Jr. (Jeff Kivi) Weinandt; three grandchildren: Josh Jr, Halle, and Aryanna;

siblings: Lori (Rick) Jacob and Jeff (Cheryl) Jacobs. She was further preceded in death by her two twin children: Katie and Clem Weinandt.

Memorial Mass for Karen will be 11:00 AM on Saturday July 29, 2023, at ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 528 Second St. Menasha, with Fr. Michael Lightner officiating. Visitation will be held at the church Saturday morning beginning at 9:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Mass. There will be a celebration of life at Prime-Time Bar and Grill 1150 Valley Rd, Menasha following the Mass. In lieu of flowers our family asks you to carry on what Karen was known for. Treat others with kindness and bring a smile to someone's face by paying it forward. 

A special thanks to Doctor Laurin Bellg, MD and student nurse Chris, Cassie, and favorite respiratory therapist Felix for their exceptional care and support during her hospital stay.

Tony and Family - I remember the years of coaching your children and Karen was always being cheering them on - after coaching I had some quick conversations with Karen when I would take my mother to get some cash at Prospera. She was always very energetic and always had something to say. She was a sweet women. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Tony and family, we are truly sorry for your loss. Karen was a wonderful lady who was so proud of her family and always had a kind word to say.  Loved her at Waverly, Piggly Wiggly, Prospera , and of course Salon expressions. I am so sorry to hear of Karen's passing. I used to work with her at Prospera Credit Union. She was the best. She was always happy and could turn anyone's frown upside down, even on their worst day. Thoughts and prayers to you all.
