RICHARD JELINSKI

Richard Edmund Jelinski “Dick” died at the age of 91, in the early morning hours of Tuesday, October 3, 2023. He was the second son born to Otto and Martha Jelinski of Neenah, on August 2, 1932, and lived in the Neenah community his whole life. The following is an incomplete list of Dick's accomplishments: served in the US Navy, Veteran of the Korean War, Navy Diver, Photographer, Painter, Scuba Diver, Sculptor, Expedition Canoeist, World Traveler, Graphic Designer and Boys' and Girls' Brigade leader for 71 years.

Dick was, in addition, a husband, a father and a man worthy of the admiration and respect he received from the many members of the community he mentored. His life's philosophy was straightforward and simple…seek out adventures and turn those experiences into art. 

Dick is survived by his son, Edmund John Jelinski, daughter-in-law, Shannon Marie Jelinski; grandson, August Edmund Jelinski; and niece, Jane Marie Jelinski. He was preceded in death by his wife/ex-wife/best friend, Linda Jelinski, who died in his arms and whom he loved till the day he died.

A visitation will be held at Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 620 Division St., Neenah, on November 3, 2023, at 10:00 am followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00am with Fr. Nonito Barra officiating. A party in his honor will be held at his home at 2780 County Road JJ on the same day from 2:30 pm till 6:00 pm or so. If you are inclined, please come to either or both events. We'll raise a toast to an extraordinarily well lived life.
