CAROL SMITH

Carol B. Smith, age 75, of Menasha passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Prairie Homes with her family at her side. She was born on January 19, 1938 in Appleton, daughter of the late Daniel and Erna (Keuhnl) Boldt. She was a graduate of Appleton West High Schoool. On April 12, 1958 she married Eugene R. Smith at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. The marriage was blessed with 55 years, four daughters, and one son. Carol was very talented musically, she played the piano, harmonized, and her voice could make a person cry. She was a very good cook and baker, and loved to share her amazing carrot cake with family and friends. Above all else, Carol loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren near and far. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Eugene; her daughters: Merrie C. (Dean) Weyenberg, Canton, GA, Stacey J. (Moxy Krieck) Kempen, Suring, Jill J. (Stan) Traxler, Neenah; her son, Rocklyn R. Smith, Menasha; grandchildren: Michelle Weyenberg, Dana (Erik) Mork, Amara Melchert, Sean (Katie) Miller-Smith, McKenzie and Dillon Kempen, Damian Smith, Madison Smith, Valorie Bacon; great grandchildren: Landon Mork, McKenzie Melchert; sisters: LaVern (Jim) Tetzlaff, Appleton, Doris Thomas, Michigan; a brother, Richard (Sandy) Boldt, Arizona; many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Gina; sisters: Mary Jane Podoll, Geraldine Wilson; brothers: Daniel O Boldt, Roger Boldt. The Funeral Service for Carol will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Timothy Lutheran Church of Menasha (473 7th Street) with Rev. Jon Gallatin officiating. Friends will be received on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service directly at the church. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Neenah. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for St. Timothy Lutheran Church.
