Obituary

Michael W. Funk, the heart and soul of his family, earned his angel wings on Friday, October 27, 2023, after a long battle with congestive heart failure.

He graduated from Neenah High School with the class of 1965, and then served in the US Army from 1966-1971.

Mike is survived by his wife, Sue; five children: Chad (Heather) Funk, Carrie (Jason) Abel, Laurie (Will) Van Stippen, Brad Funk, Trisha (Ritchie) Zander; 10 grandchildren: Kirsten Funk and her significant other, Mason Grishaber, Kristian and Zachary Olson, Arianna Abel, Drew Maloney and fiancé, Morganna Oakley, Mason Chambers, Jada and Carter Van Stippen, Jacob and Joshua Zander.  

Per Mike's wishes, there will be no services. A private family gathering will be held with Military Honors.

You can breathe easy now, my love. Until we meet again…………

Mike would always take the time listen to my Dad when He would go to Highlands to see my Mom. They both had something in common as they both were in bands when they were younger. When Dad passed away almost two years ago now, Mike approached all of us around the crypt and told us about his conversations with Dad. He ended it with, "I will take good care of him." What a fantastic man.
