Obituary
Mary Ann (Johnson) Dakins, age 75 of Menasha, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023. She was born December 27, 1947 to the late Herman and Dorothy (Godek) Johnson in Phelps, WI, and was married to Norman Dakins.
Mary loved being a mother to her two boys and was a selfless person with a lot of friends. She was a retired baker, having worked in multiple donut shops, but retiring from Pick N Save. She enjoyed volunteering in her younger years at St. Joseph's Food Pantry, and loved watching NASCAR. She was a big fan of Sawyer Effertz's and was very proud of his championship win.
Mary is survived by her husband, Norman Dakins; her son, Kevin Dakins; and by her grandchildren: Ava Fraser, TJ Fraser, and Gavin Evans. She is further survived by her sister, Jean Davis; her brothers: Edward (Laura) Vroman; and Albert (Cindy) Vroman; her sister-in-law, Bab Godek; the mother of her grandchildren, Melissa Fraser; and by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Dakins; her brother, Jim Godek; brothers-in-law, Les Davis and Gordon Dakins; her in-laws, Wilbur and Eva Dakins; her niece Bonnie Longsine; and by her nephew, Joshua Longsine.
Per Mary's request no formal service will be held at this time, but a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
