Obituary
Debra J. Kons, age 69, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Country Villa in Freedom. She was born October 21, 1954, in Neenah, daughter of the late Harold and Eileen (Reinhart) Wideman.
Debra graduated from Menasha High School in 1973. She married Steven Kons on May 17, 1975. Debra attended Cosmetology School in Appleton and worked as a hairdresser. After taking time to raise her four children, Debra later worked as a secretary and hairdresser for Westgor Funeral Home for 12 years before retiring.
Debra enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, sitting around the fire with family & friends, and, most of all, spending time with her six grandchildren.
Debra was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Menasha.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Steven; four children: Benjamin (Dana) Kons, Sarah (Peter) Harbach, Andrea (Randy) Zahorik, Christopher Kons; six grandchildren: Leah Kons, Lexi Kons, Esmay Zahorik, Raelyn Zahorik, Jackson Kons and Adeline Kons; a sister, Holly Wisnefski; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Debra was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Raymond Wisnefski.
The Mass of Resurrection will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 320 Nicolet Blvd., with Fr. Judah Pigon officiating. The visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home, and again at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the hour of mass. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Fox Valley Memory Project in honor of Debra.
The family would like to thank the staff of Country Villa in Freedom and the nursing professionals of Bristol Hospice for all the wonderful care of Debra this past year.
