THOMAS HEEBNER

Thomas Frederick Heebner, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. He was born on April 18, 1945, to the late Frederick and Marion Heebner in Whitefish Bay. Tom worked as a biology teacher for over 40 years before retiring. He truly loved teaching his students, especially at MATC (Milwaukee Area Technical College). He took pride in working hard, helping and encouraging all his students.

Tom married Karen Heebner on August 19, 1967, in Hales Corners, and were blessed with nearly 55 years of marriage. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially when he was with his daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughters. He loved to watch his granddaughters play volleyball; they were his pride and joy. He was the best storyteller, bringing laughter and smiles to all he spent time with.

Tom had a lifelong passion for golf. He would get out on a golf course any chance he would get. He especially loved taking his wife Karen out with him; she enjoyed riding along on the golf cart with him. His favorite golf companion was his son-in-law, Scott. In his later years, when he was retired, he enjoyed golfing almost 100 times every summer. He also enjoyed playing cards two to three times a week with his “cards group” at Ridgeview Highlands. Tom will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his daughter, Carla (Scott) Rankin; granddaughters, Alyssa and Ava Rankin; sister, Patti (Bob) Ondrejka; brother, Richard (Deb) Heebner; along with many other family and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Karen.

A memorial service for Tom will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at New Hope Lutheran Church, 1850 American Drive, Neenah. Visitation will be held at church from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
