Obituary

Sandra L. (Klim) Ankerson “Sandi” passed away peacefully on January 6, 2024 at age 78.  She was born on April 3, 1945, to the late John and Evelyn (Jansen) Klim.

Sandi spent her early years in Appleton before moving to Menasha and graduating from Menasha High School in 1963.  Sandi worked in the financial aid department at UW Fox Valley for many years, and also worked part time in medical records at St. Elizabeth hospital.

She enjoyed traveling the country with family and friends (ground transportation only!) and loved overnight trips to the local casinos and weekly supper club outings with close friends.

She is survived by her sister, Karen (Kent) Siems, Menasha; and her dear nieces and nephews: Eric (Renee) Siems, Neenah, Andy Klim, Japan, Chrissy (Justin) Randolph, Florida, and Sarah (Paul) Allex, Seattle, who she loved as her own children.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and her brother John Klim.

Sandi will be remembered by all who knew and loved her as a generous, loving, and caring sister, aunt, and friend.  Sandi will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew her.

The family would like to thank the staff at ThedaCare hospice services for their compassionate care over the last few months.

At Sandra's request, a private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Dear Karen, I was saddened to learn of Sandy's death and am so very sorry for your loss. Childhood friends when your family lived on Lawrence Street and we lived across the alley and to the east on College Ave, we lost contact over the years. It wasn't until I did some undergrad work at UW Fox Valley as a non-traditional student in the '80s that our paths crossed again. Sandy recognized me and reached out with kindness. May your sweet memories of Sandy, your faith in Him, and the love of family and friends bring you peace as you continue this journey.

I'm sorry to hear of Sandy's passing. She and my mother Mary Bridges were close friends in high school and I heard many stories of their time together.
