Obituary
Shirley M Dorn, 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 8, 2024, with family by her side. She was born to Edward and Dorothy (Renn) Luniak on February 17, 1937, growing up on the family farm in Menasha along with her five sisters. Shirley went to the one room Star School in Menasha and then graduated from Menasha High School. Following high school, she worked at Banta Corp where she met her husband Robert Dorn whom she was married to for 63 years. After having her children she pursued a career in nursing working at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah where she retired from the ICU department.
Shirley spent time with family and friends at her cottage on Chute Pond and her Florida home in Leesburg. We all have wonderful childhood and adult memories of camping trips, snowmobiling, atv riding, spending time at the beach, her making popcorn and cooking on the campfire, and just good family time together. She had a passion for golfing and when not on the golf course she loved watching Tiger Woods. Shirley enjoyed her winters with friends & community in Leesburg, FL. She also enjoyed traveling throughout the country and vacationing abroad.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Robert and is survived by her five daughters, Lynn (Steve), Cindy, Amy (Dave), Peggy (Mark), Patty (Bob). Nine grandchildren, Jessica, Dana, Amanda, Brianne, Caitlin, Jason, Ashley, Cody, Collin, and two great grandchildren, Gavin and Mia. She is also survived by her sisters Betty, Joan, Arlene, Carol and Dottie, sister-in-law Gloria, and brother-in-law Roger, and many other relatives and also special friends Smick Thompson and Ruth Nelson.
All the memories Shirley created will forever remain in our hearts. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses and staff at Care Partners Irish Road & St. Croix Hospice for all their attentiveness & personal relationships.
A funeral will take place on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home. There will be visitation starting at 1:00pm with a brief service at 3:00pm.
