ROBERT IMMEKUS

Robert James Immekus, age 72, of Menasha, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully Friday, January 12, 2024. He was born January 15, 1951 to the late Gerald and Frieda “Fritzie” Immekus and was raised in West Bend, WI where he established many lasting friendships.

After graduating from West Bend High School, Bob attended UW-Stevens Point, after which time he returned to West Bend and married Mary Rudd. Upon Bob’s father’s death in 1983, the two parted ways and Bob relocated to Menasha to take over running Lord Rumbottom’s. While living in Menasha, he met and married Jill Brockman and the two had a son, Joseph. Bob put his heart and soul into making sure his dad’s legacy was a success. He sold Lord Rumbottom’s in 2013 and in retirement, enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his family. He soon found he needed something more to do, and he took a driving job with Wisconsin State Auto Auction in Lomira.  He also loved to travel, cook, and take nature walks through Heckrodt Nature Center in Menasha. He was an avid reader and a dog-lover.

Bob is survived by his son, Joe Immekus; his soulmate, Terre Woodward; his sister, Pam (Michael Silgen) McCollow; and by his nephew, Max (Lauren Stephens) McCollow. He is further survived by his former wife and close friend, Mary Immekus; his special four-legged friend, Lila; as well as by his cousins, Terry and Cindy; and many longtime friends, especially Steve Hildebrand. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his maternal grandmother, Lilah Schad; his paternal grandparents, Edwin and Laura Immekus; his former wife, Jill Immekus; and his brother-in-law, Mike McCollow.

A memorial gathering for Bob will be held from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Menasha’s Westgor Funeral Home, 1140 Appleton Rd. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Saving Paws Animal Shelter.
