Obituary

Diane A. Sheridan, age 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2024. She was born on January 31, 1936 to the late Ott and Jeanette Schweitzer. She married Richard Sheridan at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Sept. 1, 1956, and they were blessed with 57 years together. Diane had a strong faith in God and was a longtime member at St. William Catholic Church in Janesville. She was known to be an excellent cook and baker who often hosted anyone who came close to dinner time. Diane was fortunate to travel, golf often, shop until she dropped and attend Badger football games. She took great pride working as a bookkeeper and was an excellent homemaker. Diane loved to decorate, listen to Sinatra, arrange flowers and lavish her family with too many gifts at Christmas.

Her greatest passion though was for her family. She always showed up for her children and grandchildren. She treasured the many minutes spent with her sister Sandra Bysted. Diane always had a strong marriage and was never far from her husband Dick. She cared dearly for her husband's family and celebrating their Irish heritage. Diane will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her 2 children Stacie (Terry) Clark and Douglas Sheridan (Denielle King), 3 grandchildren Keaton and Mikenzie Clark, Sophie Sheridan and bonus grandchildren Kassandra Sass (Eric), and Dylan King, as well as her sister Sandra Bysted. Diane was preceded in death by her husband Dick Sheridan, infant daughter Theresa Marie, brother-in-law Dick Bysted, and her parents.

A private gathering will be held. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Janesville.

Diane's family would like to give a warm thank you to the staff at Care Partners in Fox Crossing and Preceptor Home Hospice for their care.
