Obituary

Michael John Rougeux, 73, died Monday February 26, 2024, at Alten Haus Assisted Living, Neenah. He was born February 22, 1951, in Menasha, son of the late Vernon and Genevieve (Boehnlein) Rougeux. Michael married Elizabeth (Austin) on May 8, 1971, and have been together for over 51 years of marriage.

Michael worked at Neenah paper, retiring Jan 15th, 2016. He was an avid sports fan with a strong love of the Packers, Brewers and Bucks. Mike also enjoyed an occasional deer hunt with family and friends throughout various areas of the state of Wisconsin. Mike near his retirement gained himself a “green thumb” and flourished many hanging plants as well as feeding the neighborhood birds.

Michael is survived by his three sons: Scott (Linda) Rougeux, Chris Rougeux, and Ryan (Gaia) Rougeux; eight grandchildren: Steven Rougeux, Hannah Rougeux, Jacob Rougeux, Bella Rougeux, Arlo, Pearl Rougeux, Huxley Rougeux, Duncan Rougeux. Mike was the oldest of four brothers, David, Allan and Jim Rougeux.

A memorial service for Michael will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday March 1, 2024, at Westgor Funeral Home, Neenah. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday morning, beginning at 11:00 until the 1:00 PM service.

Betsy I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Mike. I send my deepest sympathy to you and your family during this time of sadness and loss.  He was a great person a wonderful cousin and classmate.  I would be there tomorrow to say my goodbyes but I am out of state. God Bless you all &#x1f64f;

My heart goes out to Mike&#39;s entire family- so very sorry for your loss. &#39;Roach&#39;, my nextdoor neighbor and closest friend growing up, was with me that night at a dance at Neenah High back in &#39;67&#39;, when I met my current wife, Ellen. He was in our wedding in&#39;70&#39;- I joined the Air Force, and never returned to WI, except to visit, but I did stop and visit Mike several times over the years. Mike, his parents, and brothers were all good people. He will be sadly missed by oh, so many. Please, all take care.

Our condolences to Betsy and the extended family on the loss of our first Rougeux cousin in Wisconsin. While we haven&#39;t been close in recent years, we remember times together in Frenchville as we were growing up, and we wish heartfelt memories for each of you.
