DAVID PANSY

October 15, 1950 - April 29, 2024

Obituary

David J. Pansy, age 73 of Appleton, passed away late Monday, April 29, 2024. He was born October 15, 1950 to the late John and Lillian (Kohn) Pansy on a farm outside of Neenah. Growing up, he helped his parents run their produce market before starting a potato farm on his own. He then went on to work for American National Can until his retirement.

Dave enjoyed spending his days with the love of his life, Kathy. The two have been together for 36 years and were married in 2001. Dave had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, which he did faithfully with his brother, Don, and with his grandsons. He also liked hunting and sturgeon spearing and taking trips to the north woods. In his younger years, Dave joined his friends on many trips out West. Dave also had a deep love of horses that he shared with his three daughters which led him to judge over 400 horse shows in the span of 30 years. In 2007 he was recognized as the Wisconsin Horse Council Show Judge of the Year.

Dave will be missed by his loving wife, Kathy; his children: Angela Brown; Michelle (Jason) Gaffney; Kimberly (Matt) Hildebrand; Carrie (Patrick) Bowen; Corey (Amanda) Fye and his best-friend and partner in crime, Candi Fye; his grandchildren: Makenzie; Logan; Lennox; Dylan; Cassandra; and Courtney; and by his great-grandchildren: Abel and Terionte, and two on the way. He is further survived by his siblings: Susan (Chuck) Paulson; Donna (Gary) Baldauf; Donald (Lana) Pansy; and by his in-laws: Jim Remmel, Julie Clark; Steve (Julie) Remmel; Susie (special friend Rob) Kottke; and Thom Remmel; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and by Kathy's parents, Donald and Lorraine Remmel; and by his brother-in-law, Paul Remmel.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home. Military Honors will be performed at 2:00 P.M. at Oak Hill Cemetery, where Dave will be laid to rest.
