PERRY SMITH

January 14, 1938 - June 05, 2024

Obituary

Perry Dean Smith, 86, of Neenah, Wisconsin passed away early in the morning of June 5, 2024, of prostate cancer and complications from other medical conditions.  His final moments were filled with lots of love and support from his family and friends.

Perry was born (at home) in Neenah, Wisconsin.  He worked for 40 years at Menasha Corporation until his retirement in September of 2000.  Perry filled his days with browsing and shopping at various thrift and antique stores.  He especially enjoyed collecting military memorabilia.  He was very proud of the 1946 Willy Jeep he had received as a Christmas gift this past Christmas.   For the last 30 plus years, you could always find Perry enjoying a turkey sub, oatmeal raisin cookie and diet coke at his favorite local subway.   Thank you, Brian and Sue Gajewski!  Perry spent many years owning and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles.  “Harley Davidson was the best years of my life” – even having an arm tattoo reflecting his motto!  He also loved cruising around in his beloved Corvette and even participated in several Corvette rides with the love his life, wife Veronica “Bim”.  Bim and Perry were married on October 29, 1988, and were blessed to share over 35 years together.

Perry is survived by his wife, Veronica “Bim” (Moran) Smith; two sons: Rick (Amy Erickson) Smith and Michael (Cole Heeren) Smith; sister: Donna (Harley) Kopitzke; brothers-in law: Rick Moran, Mike (Mary) Moran; sisters-in-law: Patti (James) Van Dinter, Christa (Dave) Bednarowski, and Lisa Moran; grandchildren: Amanda (Kevin) Ringer, Rickey Smith, Teri Smith, Navaeh Smith; step-grandchildren: Glenn, Tina, Lee Ann (Sean), John, Richard, Crystal (Jeremiah), Austin, MyKenzie, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Perry was preceded in death by his parents, Marian (Laurin) and Douglas Smith; brothers: Donald (Bernice) Smith, DeVon (Audrey) Smith, Garland (Edna) Smith; sisters: Marvel (David) Buksyk and Beverly Smith; step-daughters: Phyllis Mande and Gloria Du Fay; in-laws, Richard (Lieselotte) Moran, step-mom Viriginia “Ginny” Moran; and infant brother-in-law, Tommy Moran.

The service for Perry will be held on Saturday June 22, 2024 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1451 Green Valley Road, Neenah, WI 54956 at 1:00 PM.   Visitation will be held before the service, starting at 11:30 AM.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund honoring Perry is being established.
