RALPH ZEINERT

Ralph Zeinert, of Neenah, age 79, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, August 26, 2013. He was born June 21, 1934 in Neenah, son of the late Paul and Mary (Terp) Zeinert. Ralph served in the National Guards proudly from 1951-1960, part of Headquarters Co, Hq Hq 1st BN, 127th Infantry, and later in the 158th Transportation Battalion Boat. Ralph attained the rank of Staff Sergeant E6, as a Control Boat Operator. Ralph married Barbara Porath on August 22, 1959. She preceded him in death in 1996. Ralph was 18 years old when he started helping out on the Neenah Police Boat. He then piloted the Neenah Police Boat for many years. Ralph also was the Pilot of boats for the Shattuck, Mahler and Hewitt families on Lake Winnebago. He retired from George Banta Corp. after more than 40 years of employment. He felt very close to Heaven in Door County, sitting on his bench with 2 stumps, being as close to God there, which he named his Cathedral. More beautiful than anything in the world. Survivors include his three children: Paul (Lisa) Zeinert, Bryan, OH, Kandis Zeinert, Neenah, Danny (Diane) Zeinert, Appleton; ten grandchildren: Sara Zeinert, Bob (Amanda) Zeinert, Andy Zeinert, David Zeinert, Jason Steele, Aubrey Steele, Aimee Zeinert, Malaree (Jason) Greutzmacher, Natalee Zeinert and fianc, Dennis Ketels, Rilee Zeinert; two great-grandchildren: Veda and Liam; and his brother, Clifford Zeinert. Ralph was preceded in death by an infant sister, Loretta. A private family service was held for Ralph. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in his name.
