UTE ALTO

Ute Alto, age 82, of Neenah, died unexpectedly Tuesday, August 13, 2024. She was born April 12, 1942, in Mannheim, Germany. Ute came over to the United States of America with her parents, Andrew and Josepha Welsch, in 1954. 

She was a 1960 graduate of Winneconne High School. Ute married the love of her life, David Alto, in Milwaukee. She was a stay-at-home Mom for her three children for many years. In 1999, she went to work at Menn Law Firm where she worked until her retirement in 2014. Ute was a kind and sweet woman who was well loved by all of her friends and family. She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Neenah and was a traditional Catholic and her faith meant the world to her.

Ute is survived by her three children: Carmen (David) Smith, of Milwaukee, Rebecca Vold (fiancé Glenn Champagne) of Omro, Michael Alto, of Neenah; brother, Rudy (Patricia) Wiegand, of Belgium; three grandchildren: Ryan Smith, Stephanie Vold, Emily Smith; a sister-in-law, Kjordis (Dennis Gratke) Christie, of Arizona; nieces, nephews and many close friends.

Ute was preceded in death by her husband, David Alto; parents, Andrew and Josepha Welsch; mother and father-in-law, Arlene (Alto) Rixner and Arley Alto; brother-in-law, Ronald Alto; sisters-in-law: Julie Schry and Ginger Wedde; and other relatives in Germany.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 1:30pm at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger St., Neenah, with Fr. Bob Kollath and Deacon Tom Gritton officiating. A visitation will be held from 12:30pm until the time of Mass. Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home assisted the family.
