Obituary

Menasha – Marzorie “Mickie” (Faucher) Coenen, age 67, has passed away surrounded by family on September 7th, 2024, in Neenah, WI. Mickie was born to Nancy (Starks) Faucher and Clifford Faucher on June 24, 1957, in Wisconsin. After earning her associate's degree in child development, Mickie went on to foster children in need and provided them with a safe and nurturing home. She was married to the love of her life Christopher “Chris” Coenen on March 3rd, 2000, and spent over 24 years together.

Mickie devoted her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and the nearly two hundred foster children she lovingly welcomed into her warm home over the past 35 years. The reward for her selfless giving heart is no trophy, no gold medal, but an award she is enjoying now being with her mother, father, sister, the angels and saints in everlasting paradise. 

Mickie is survived by her loving husband Chris Coenen; children: Michelle (Troy) Melzer, Melissa (Sergio) Young, Michael (Carrie) Young Jr., and Mitchell Young; step-children: Christy (Lukas) Coenen, and Courtney (Nick) Jackels; sisters: Lori Gorges, Karen (Allen) Steinberg, and Colleen “Kelly” Niemi; brothers: Thomas Faucher, William “Bill” Faucher, Larry Faucher, Clifford Faucher Jr. and David Faucher; grandchildren: Kyle (Anna), Kaylee, Ariel, Alyssa, Brandon, Nathan, Jack, Cole, Maddie, Maddox, Presley, Austin, Kennedy, Elise, and Anthony; great-grandchildren: Oliver, Leeland, Ellis, Octavia, Oaklynn, Ryan, Rayne, and Luna.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister Theresa “Terri” Sockett; niece Bianca Sheprow. 

Mickie was an authentically classy woman with grace overflowing. Always a lady right up until her last breath. She was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be sorely missed. Rest easy our beautiful Mickie, rest easy.

A funeral service for Mickie is being held at Westgor Funeral Home, located at 1140 Appleton Rd, Menasha, WI 54952, on Saturday, Sept. 14th at 12:00pm, following a 9:00am-12:00pm visitation at the same location. Mickie will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery in Menasha, WI following the service.

Dear Melissa, Chris and entire family - I’m lost for words and my eyes are leaking many tears after reading this incredible story of Mickie’s life here on Earth. Chris, Christy and Courtney you have our sympathy for your loss. I got to know Mickie while working at Menasha High School where she came to the office when dealing with issues with her many foster children. She was a very friendly pleasant lady and cared deeply for the welfare of her foster boys.
